    Description

1954-S (San Francisco) Commemorative Silver Half Dollar, featuring George George Carver and Booker T. Washington, two prominent African Americans.  The coin, and in particular its reverse design, was intended to promote patriotism and a distrust of communism among Black Americans, in the midst of the Civil Rights movement -- which makes it a very interesting bit of US history.
Only 42,024 of this type were struck, making this coin scarce. It also contains .362 Troy ounces of pure silver.
While I am not a professional coin grader, I would guess this one would qualify as almost uncirculated.  But please judge the condition by yourself using the photos provided.
